Mobile Event Management Overview
The Seaty mobile app lets you manage events from anywhere. View real-time sales data, scan tickets, manage attendees, and respond to ticket requests directly from your mobile device.
At its simplest, mobile event management answers one question: How are my events performing right now?
Who uses this: Event organisers, box office staff, door managers, and event administrators with management permissions.
Key capabilities:
- View real-time sales statistics and revenue
- Scan and validate tickets at the door
- Look up attendee information and order history
- Approve or refuse ticket requests
- Monitor event activity through a live feed
How It Works
At a glance: Access your events on mobile, check performance data, and handle on-site management tasks without needing a computer.
1. Access your events
Open the app and view your events list. Events you manage appear automatically based on your permissions.
2. Review performance
Check sales statistics, ticket availability, and revenue figures. Pull down to refresh for the latest data.
3. Handle on-site tasks
Scan tickets, look up attendees, respond to requests, and monitor the activity feed as your event runs.
4. Take action when needed
Contact attendees, approve requests, or open the web dashboard for tasks requiring full editing capabilities.
Think of it this way:
- Mobile app handles viewing, monitoring, and quick actions
- Web dashboard handles creation, configuration, and bulk operations
- Permissions control what each team member can see and do
Mobile vs Web: When to Use Each
Use the mobile app for:
- Quick data checks whilst on-site
- Ticket scanning at the door
- Request management away from your desk
- Attendee lookup and payment history
- Activity monitoring through the feed
Use the web dashboard for:
- Event creation with seating plans
- Detailed configuration and editing
- Bulk operations
- Financial reporting and spreadsheets
- Email campaigns and marketing
In short: Mobile app for viewing and monitoring. Web dashboard for full configuration and editing.
Who Can Manage Events
Event administrators: Full access to all event data, statistics, and management features
Staff members: Access based on granted permissions (scanning, attendee lookup, request management)
Organisation managers: Oversight across all events within their organisation
Permissions Explained
- EventSummary - View sales statistics and event dates
- EventRequests - View and respond to ticket requests
- OrderView - Access attendee information and order details
- EventScans - Validate tickets through QR scanning
- EventFeed - Monitor activity stream of orders, payments, and refunds
Permissions are managed through the web dashboard and sync automatically to the mobile app.
Why are permissions separate? This allows organisers to give staff exactly the access they need. Door staff might only need scanning, whilst box office staff need attendee lookup and request handling.
Key Features
Sales Statistics (Online Only)
View real-time ticket sales:
- Total revenue
- Tickets sold vs available capacity
- Sales percentage
- Today's sales, yesterday's sales, last 7 days
Refresh by pulling down on the event screen.
Why online only? Sales data changes constantly as customers purchase tickets. The app fetches the latest figures each time to ensure accuracy.
Event Dates
Navigate between multiple performances:
- View all dates chronologically
- Show/hide past dates
- See sales statistics per date
- Quick access to scanning for specific dates
Attendee Management

- View all attendees for an event
- Individual summaries with spending and ticket count
- Order history and payment records

Ticket Requests
Respond to ticket requests:
- View pending requests awaiting approval
- Review request details
- Approve requests to create orders automatically
- Refuse requests with custom reason messages
- Track request history through the feed
Event Feed
Monitor real-time activity:
- All orders (admin, online, request-based)
- Payment transactions and refunds
- Cancellations
- Filter by activity type
- Search by attendee name or email
- Tap any item to view full details
Feed shows most recent activity first and loads more as you scroll.
Quick Actions
- Navigate to organisation details
- View venue information
- Share event link via QR code
- Open event in web browser for full editing
- Access event-specific help resources
Offline Capabilities
Works offline:
- View cached event details
- Offline scanning (requires advance setup)
Requires internet:
- Sales statistics
- Attendee information
- Event feed
Why does offline scanning require setup? The app needs to download attendee data before going offline. Without this preparation, there's no local data to validate tickets against.

Common Questions
Access and Permissions
Why can't I see certain events? You only see events where you have management permissions. Contact your organisation administrator to request access.
Can I manage events from multiple organisations? Yes. Switch between organisations using the organisation selector. Events from all your permitted organisations appear in your events list.
Why do some features appear greyed out? Features display based on your permissions. If a feature is unavailable, your account doesn't have that specific permission enabled.
Data and Connectivity
How current is the sales data? Sales statistics update each time you view them or pull down to refresh. The data reflects the moment it was fetched.
What happens if I lose internet during an event? You can continue scanning if you set up offline mode beforehand. Other features like attendee lookup and the feed will be unavailable until connectivity returns.
Can I see historical data? The feed shows recent activity. For detailed historical reports, use the web dashboard which offers full export and reporting features.
Mobile vs Web
Can I create events from the mobile app? No. Event creation, seating plans, and detailed configuration require the web dashboard. The mobile app focuses on monitoring and on-site management.
Should I use the app or web dashboard during an event? Use both. The app handles scanning and quick lookups on-site, whilst the web dashboard remains available for any complex tasks or bulk operations.
