Change Your Ticket Date for the Same Event

Need to attend a different night? Swap your Seaty tickets to another date for the same event by contacting the organiser or using the date-swap option.

If you've purchased tickets but can no longer attend on your original date, you may be able to swap your tickets to a different date for the same event.

At its simplest, date changes answer one question: Can I move my tickets to a different performance of the same event?

Who uses this: Customers who have purchased tickets but need to attend on a different date.

How It Works

At a glance: You contact Seaty support with your order details and preferred new date, we check availability, and if possible, move your tickets and send you updated confirmation.

1. Check eligibility

Before requesting a date change, confirm your tickets haven't been used and the event has other available dates with matching ticket types.

2. Submit your request

Email Seaty support with your order number, current date, and preferred new date. Include backup dates if possible.

3. We process the swap

Our team checks availability, confirms pricing matches, and moves your tickets to the new date.

4. Receive updated tickets

You'll receive new tickets via email with the updated date. Your original tickets are automatically cancelled.

Think of it this way:

  • Eligibility confirms your tickets can be moved
  • Your request tells us where you want to go
  • Processing handles the administrative transfer
  • Confirmation gives you your new tickets

Can I Change My Ticket Date?

Seaty can help you swap to a different date if all of these conditions are met:

  1. Your original date is in the future - The event date you're moving from hasn't happened yet
  2. Your tickets haven't been used - You haven't attended or scanned in
  3. The event has other available dates - The same event is running on different dates
  4. Equivalent tickets are available - Same ticket types at the same price are available on your preferred date
  5. Availability exists - Tickets aren't sold out for your new date

Why "equivalent tickets" matters: Tickets can only be swapped if the same ticket type at the same price exists on the new date. If the organiser uses dynamic pricing or has different ticket categories on different dates, swaps might not be possible.

For seated events: Your exact seats may not be available on other dates, but we'll do our best to offer similar seats.

This is not automatic - All date changes require manual processing by Seaty support.


How to Request a Date Change

  1. Order number - Found in your order confirmation email
  2. Full name - Name on the order
  3. Email address - Email the order was purchased with
  4. Current date - The date you originally booked
  5. Preferred new date - The date you want to move to
  6. Ticket details - Number and type of tickets (if you have multiple)

What Happens Next

Our team will:

  1. Check availability - Verify tickets are available on your requested date
  2. Confirm pricing - Ensure the same ticket types exist at the same price
  3. Process the swap - Move your tickets to the new date
  4. Send new tickets - Email you updated tickets with the new date

Response time: Within 1-2 business days

If successful: You'll receive new tickets via email for the new date. Your original tickets will be cancelled.

If not possible: We'll explain why and discuss alternatives if available.


What If My Preferred Date Isn't Available?

If your first choice date is sold out or unavailable:

  1. Check other dates - Look at the event page to see all available dates
  2. Suggest alternatives - Let us know 2-3 backup dates in your email
  3. New purchase option - If swapping isn't possible, you may need to purchase new tickets and request a refund for the original order (subject to refund policy)

Important Notes

No Price Difference

Date changes are only possible when tickets cost the same on both dates. If prices differ between dates, we cannot process a swap.

Why? Date swaps are a courtesy service, not a ticket exchange. Different pricing requires a new purchase.

Subject to Availability

Your requested date must have available tickets. If it's sold out or only has different ticket types available, we cannot complete the swap.

One-Time Service

We normally offer one date change per order. Additional changes depend on availability and aren't always possible.

Not Available for All Events

Some events or organisers may not permit date changes. We'll let you know if this applies to your order.

Some event organisers handle date changes directly. You can contact the organiser if:

  • You prefer to deal with them directly
  • Seaty support indicates the organiser manages their own date changes
  • You want to discuss special circumstances

Fees and Processing

Is there a fee for changing dates? No, Seaty doesn't charge a fee for date swaps when possible. However, processing is at our discretion and subject to availability.

How quickly can this be processed? Usually within 1-2 business days. During busy periods it may take slightly longer.

Eligibility

Can I change to a date with different pricing? No, date swaps are only available when ticket prices are identical on both dates.

Why can't I swap to a date with different pricing? Date swaps are a courtesy service, not a ticket exchange. Different pricing requires a new purchase.

What if I've already attended? Once tickets are scanned or the event date has passed, date changes are not possible.

Can I change to a different event entirely? No, date swaps are only for the same event on different dates. For different events, you'd need to purchase new tickets and potentially request a refund for the original order (subject to refund policy).

Partial Changes and Seating

Can I change just some of my tickets? Yes, if you have multiple tickets you can request to change only some of them. Specify this clearly in your email.

Will my seat selection stay the same? For events with allocated seating, your exact seats may not be available on the new date. We'll do our best to offer similar seats but cannot guarantee the exact same ones.
