Ticket Details
The ticket detail screens show individual ticket information, including the QR code needed for venue entry. Whether viewing a single ticket or swiping through multiple tickets, these screens provide everything you need for event attendance.
At its simplest, ticket details answers one question: How do I show my ticket at the door?
Who uses this: Attendees with purchased tickets, and staff members with rostering permissions for check-in functions.
Key capabilities:
- View individual ticket information including seat, section, and category
- Display QR codes for venue entry scanning
- Swipe through multiple tickets in a carousel
- See scan history after entry
- Access order details from any ticket
How It Works
At a glance: Navigate to your tickets, tap to view details, and show the QR code at the venue door.
1. Find Your Ticket
Navigate to an event and tap "Tickets" to see your order. From the tickets list, tap any order or section header to open the ticket carousel.
2. View Ticket Details
Each ticket displays full information including seat name, section, category, and event details. For orders with multiple tickets, swipe left or right to move between them.
3. Show QR Code for Entry
Tap "Show QR Code" to display a large, scannable code. Hold your phone steady at the venue scanner and wait for confirmation. For groups, swipe to the next ticket and repeat.
Think of it this way:
- Ticket carousel shows one ticket at a time for easy scanning at doors
- QR code is your unique entry pass that cannot be duplicated
- Scan history records when you entered and who scanned you
How to Access Ticket Details
Standard access:
- Navigate to an event
- Tap "Tickets"
- Tap any order or section header
- View tickets in carousel mode
Other access points: Some event-related screens provide direct access to specific tickets via navigation parameters.
Understanding the Ticket Carousel
Multiple Tickets
When viewing an order with multiple tickets:
How it works:
- Swipe left or right to move between tickets
- Each ticket shown full-screen
- Animated transitions between tickets
- Current position indicator (e.g. "1 of 4")
Why use a carousel? This design makes it easy to show tickets one at a time at venue doors. One-handed operation means you can hold bags or help children while swiping through tickets quickly for group entry.
Single Ticket
If viewing just one ticket:
- No swipe navigation needed
- Full screen devoted to ticket details
- All information immediately visible
What Information Is Displayed?
Header Section
Ticket identification:
- Seat or ticket name (e.g. "A12" or "General Admission")
- Group or section name (e.g. "Stalls", "Balcony")
- Ticket category (e.g. "Adult", "Concession")
Event details:
- Event name
- Event date and time
- Venue information
Ticket Body
Main details:
- Order ID (for reference)
- Seat category and area (if reserved seating)
- Any special notes about this ticket
Status indicators (if applicable):
- Scanned status (if previously checked in)
- Time of scan
- Scanned by whom (staff member name)
QR Code for Venue Entry
Displaying the QR Code
How to show QR code:
- Tap "Show QR Code" button
- QR code displays at optimised size
- Brightness recommendation appears
QR code characteristics:
- Large, easy-to-scan size that fills most of your screen
- High contrast for reliable scanning
- Unique code per ticket
- Cannot be duplicated or transferred
Using QR Code at the Venue
Best practices:
- Increase screen brightness to maximum
- Clean your screen for clear display
- Hold steady at door scanner
- Wait for confirmation sound or vibration
- Show next ticket if in a group
If scanning fails:
- Increase brightness further
- Try different angle or distance
- Check battery isn't critically low
- Use digital wallet pass as alternative
- Ask staff for manual entry using ticket ID
Scan History
If the ticket has been scanned:
Information shown:
- Date and time marked in
- Staff member who scanned
- Date and time marked out (if applicable)
- Staff member who marked out
Why is scan history recorded? This lets you verify successful entry, check attendance records, and see when you left for events that track attendance throughout.
Admin Notes (Staff Only)
For staff members with appropriate permissions:
Additional information visible:
- Admin-only notes
- Special flags or markers
- Internal ticket information
Note: These notes are hidden from customers and only visible to authorised staff.
Available Actions
Navigate to Order
From the ticket screen:
- Tap "View Order" (if button available)
- See complete order details
- View all tickets in this order
- Access order history
Why would you view the full order? When you need context about the whole booking, such as seeing all tickets together, checking order history, or finding payment details.
Check-In (Staff Only)
If you're a staff member with rostering permissions:
How to toggle check-in:
- Tap "Check In" or "Check Out" button
- Confirm action
- Ticket marked as checked in or out
- Timestamp and your name recorded
Why is manual check-in separate from QR scanning? Manual check-in is used for attendance tracking throughout an event, while QR scanning handles initial entry at the door. Some events need both.
Understanding Ticket States
Active Ticket
Normal display with:
- Full ticket information
- Scannable QR code
- Valid for entry
Scanned Ticket
After QR code scan at venue:
- Shows scan timestamp
- Displays scanner's name
- QR code still accessible (for exit scanning or verification)
Cancelled Ticket
If ticket was cancelled:
- May show cancellation status
- QR code disabled
- Not valid for entry
- Refund information available elsewhere
Simplified QR Code Screen
Some events use a simplified QR code-only screen:
Purpose: Fast QR code display without full ticket details
Access: Direct navigation from specific event workflows
Display: Just the QR code, optimised for quick scanning
Why use the simplified screen? High-throughput scenarios where speed matters more than showing full details. Useful for events with fast-moving queues.
Mobile vs Web
Mobile strengths:
- QR codes designed for phone displays
- Touch-optimised carousel navigation
- Always accessible at venue
- Screen brightness controls
Web limitations:
- QR codes harder to scan from laptop screens
- Less portable for venue entry
- Carousel less intuitive without touch
Recommendation: Always use mobile app for venue entry and ticket display. Web is for order management, not ticket scanning.
Common Questions
QR Codes and Scanning
My QR code won't display. What should I do? Check your internet connection first, as the code may need to load from the server. Try refreshing the ticket screen, navigating away and back, or force closing and reopening the app.
My QR code won't scan at the venue. How can I fix this? The most common cause is screen brightness. Increase brightness to maximum in your phone settings. Also ensure your screen is clean, hold the phone flat toward the scanner at arm's length, and check your battery level. If scanning still fails, use your digital wallet pass as an alternative or ask staff for manual entry using your ticket ID.
Why does my phone need to be bright for scanning? QR scanners use cameras that need good contrast to read the code. Low brightness or dirty screens make the pattern harder to detect.
Ticket Information
The seat number or details look wrong. What should I check? First, ensure you're viewing the correct ticket by swiping through the carousel. Check you're viewing the right event date. Pull to refresh on the tickets list screen. If details are still incorrect, contact the event organiser to correct your booking.
I was scanned at the door but my scan history isn't showing. Why? Try refreshing the ticket screen by pulling down. Wait a few seconds for the system to sync. Check your internet connection. If you still don't see the record, ask door staff to confirm the scan succeeded.
Mobile vs Web
Why should I use the mobile app instead of the website for venue entry? The mobile app displays QR codes at the optimal size for phone scanners, offers touch-friendly carousel navigation for groups, and provides easy screen brightness controls. Web QR codes are harder to scan from laptop screens and less practical to carry to venue doors.
Can I still manage my order on the web? Yes. The web is ideal for order management, viewing purchase history, and administrative tasks. Use the mobile app specifically for ticket display and venue entry.
