Email Sign-In
Email sign-in provides secure access to the Seaty mobile app using your email address and password, protected by a two-factor authentication code sent to your email.
At its simplest, email sign-in answers one question: How do I securely access my Seaty account on mobile?
Who uses this: Customers and event organisers who want full access to all features.

- Access your tickets, orders, and event management tools

New to Seaty? You'll need to create an account on Seaty.co.uk first (see Account Registration section below).

How It Works
At a glance: Enter your email and password, receive a security code by email, enter the code, and you're in.
1. Enter Credentials
Open the Seaty app and tap "Sign in with email". Enter the email address and password associated with your Seaty account. The app validates your credentials against the Seaty database.
2. Receive Security Code
After successful validation, a six-digit security code is sent to your email address. This code uses uppercase letters and numbers only, making it easy to read across different devices.
3. Verify Identity
Enter the security code from your email into the app. The code confirms you have access to both your password and your email inbox.
4. Access Your Account
Once verified, you have full access to your tickets, order history, event browsing, and any management features your account permissions allow.
Think of it this way:
- Your password proves you know a secret
- Your security code proves you control your email
- Both together provide two-factor protection for your account
Sign-In Steps
Step 1: Enter Your Credentials
- Open the Seaty mobile app
- Tap "Sign in with email" on the home screen
- Enter your email address
- Enter your password
- Tap "Submit"
Tip: Make sure you're entering the email address associated with your Seaty account.
Step 2: Enter Security Code
After successful credential validation:
- Check your email inbox for a six-digit security code
- Enter the code exactly as shown (uppercase letters and numbers)
- Tap "Submit code"
Important timing: The security code is valid for 20 minutes from the time of request. After 20 minutes, you'll need to request a new code by starting the sign-in process again.
Why the 20-minute limit? Time-limited codes prevent someone from using an old code if they gain access to your email later. This protects your account even if old emails are compromised.

Step 3: You're In
Once your security code is verified, you're signed in and have access to:
- Your tickets - View and manage your event bookings
- Browse events - Discover and purchase tickets for new events
- Order history - Review past purchases and payment details
- Event management - Create and manage events (if you have organiser permissions)
- File access - Download event materials and play media content

Understanding Security Codes
What Security Codes Look Like
Security codes are 6 characters using only uppercase letters and numbers.
Example codes: ABC234, XYZ789, PQR456
Characters used:
- Letters: A-Z (excluding I, J, O to avoid confusion with numbers)
- Numbers: 2-9 (excluding 0 and 1 to avoid confusion with letters)
Why this format? Uppercase-only codes with visually distinct characters are easier to read across different email clients and devices, reducing typos during entry.
When Codes Arrive
Security codes are sent immediately after you successfully enter your email and password.
Where to check:
- Primary inbox
- Spam/junk folder
- Promotions tab (Gmail)
- Social tab (Gmail)
- Updates folder (Gmail)

How Long Codes Last
Security codes are valid for 20 minutes from the moment they're requested.
If your code expires:
- Tap "Back" to return to the email/password screen
- Re-enter your email and password
- A fresh security code will be sent automatically
- Check your email and enter the new code
Password Requirements
Your Seaty password must meet these minimum requirements:
- Minimum length: At least 6 characters
- No specific character requirements: You can use letters, numbers, and symbols
- Case-sensitive:
Password123andpassword123are different passwords
Why only 6 characters? While we require only 6 characters minimum, we strongly recommend using longer passwords (12+ characters) for better security. The two-factor authentication code adds an extra layer of protection.
Security recommendation: Use a strong, unique password that you don't use for other services.
Forgot Password
If you've forgotten your password:
- On the email sign-in screen, tap "Forgot your password?"
- Enter your email address
- Tap "Recover password"
- Check your email for password reset instructions
- Follow the link in the email to set a new password
- Return to the app and sign in with your new password
Important: Password reset links are valid for 24 hours. After that, you'll need to request a new reset email.
Why 24 hours? This balances convenience with security, giving you enough time to reset your password while preventing old reset links from being used maliciously.
Account Registration
Don't have a Seaty account yet?
Account registration is currently available only on the Seaty.co.uk website, not in the mobile app.
How to create an account:
- Visit https://www.seaty.co.uk
- Click "Sign up" or "Create account"
- Complete the registration process
- Return to the mobile app and sign in with your new credentials
Why web-only registration? This ensures all account features, including email verification and payment setup, are properly configured before you start using the mobile app.
First-Time Sign-In
Already have a Seaty.co.uk account? Your existing credentials work in the mobile app.
Steps:
- Use the same email and password as your web account
- Complete the security code verification
- Your account data automatically syncs to the mobile app
Why unified accounts? Your Seaty account works across both web and mobile, so you can manage events and tickets from any device without creating separate accounts.
Quick Sign-In for Returning Users
Already signed in before? The Seaty app remembers you.
How to use quick sign-in:
- On the home screen, scroll past the sign-in buttons
- Look for the "or select an existing user" section
- Tap your name to sign in instantly without re-entering credentials
When this is useful:
- Managing multiple Seaty accounts
- Sharing a device with family members attending different events
- Switching between customer and organiser accounts
Privacy note: Only use quick sign-in on devices you trust. On shared or public devices, always use the full sign-in process and sign out when finished.
Security Best Practices
Protect Your Email Account
Your email is the primary security mechanism for Seaty authentication. If someone accesses your email, they can receive security codes.
Recommendations:
- Use a strong, unique password for your email account
- Enable two-factor authentication on your email provider
- Never share security codes with anyone (Seaty staff will never ask for them)
Protect Your Seaty Password
- Use a unique password - Don't reuse passwords from other services
- Make it strong - Use 12+ characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
- Change it if compromised - If you suspect your password is exposed, change it immediately
- Don't write it down - Avoid saving passwords in unsecured notes or documents
Device Security
- Shared devices - Always sign out after use
- Public devices - Don't use quick sign-in; always enter credentials manually
- Device lock screens - Use PIN, pattern, or biometric locks for added protection
- Lost device? Change your Seaty password immediately from another device
Common Questions
Security Codes
What if my security code isn't arriving?
Check your spam/junk folder, promotions tab, and social tab (Gmail). Verify you entered the correct email address. If still not received after 2-3 minutes, try the sign-in process again to request a new code. Contact support@seaty.co.uk if the problem persists.
Why did I get "Auth code is invalid"?
The code you entered doesn't match what was sent. Common causes include typos (remember: uppercase letters and numbers only), using an old code after requesting multiple codes, or the code expired after 20 minutes. Request a new code by going back and re-entering your credentials.
Why did I get "Auth code is out of date"?
The security code was requested more than 20 minutes ago. Tap "Back" and go through the sign-in process again to request a fresh code.
Sign-In Problems
What does "Authentication failed" mean?
Your email or password is incorrect. Double-check your credentials. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot your password?" option.
What does "You must enter an email address" mean?
The email field was left empty. Enter your registered email address.
What does "You must enter a password" mean?
The password field was left empty. Enter your account password.
Account Access
Can I use my web account credentials in the app?
Yes. Your Seaty account works across both web and mobile. Use the same email and password you use on Seaty.co.uk.
Can I create an account in the app?
No. Account registration is only available on Seaty.co.uk. Create your account on the website, then sign in to the mobile app with those credentials.
Can I be signed in on multiple devices?
Yes. Your account can be active on multiple devices simultaneously. Your data syncs across all devices.
